The Big Fat Disclaimer (aka the BFD)

On my flight to California I was able to read through about half of Confessions of a Reformissional Rev by Mark Driscoll.  Driscoll has a sharp style that makes reading his book a real pleasure.  He chronicles his experiences, victories and failures, as a church planter that are invaluable to the rest of us.  Like any other resource it must be read critically but not with a critical spirit.

Leaders need to be readers and that means we need to read broadly.  Any book or speaker or information that we take in must be filtered through scripture.  It is not good to spend the time we have pointing out the things we disagree with.  It is far better to figure out what we can learn and how we can change and be agents of change.  No critical spirit here.
